- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I went into the Fifth Third Bank on Halleck Street in Demotte and wanted to open a checking account with a Direct Deposit from another account that I have. I set at the desk of the lady that opens checking accounts and I had the advertisement that I was sent in the mail stating that a $200.00 cash bonus would be applied to a new account that had a minimum of $100.00 deposit and in addition at least a $100.00 Direct Deposit. The lady (this was on a Saturday Morning, August 9th, 2014) The lady told me that this was not feasible the way I wanted to set it up. I was following all of the rules that they advertised. I ask her to check with her supervisor and call me on Monday August 11th, 2014 and if I was not at home to please leave a message on my voice mail. WELL, today is Thursday and no call from the Bank. I spent my time to go into the bank to set this up and I was applying all of the rules that they Mailed to me advertisement stated, and NO PERSON IN THE BANK IS KIND ENOUGH TO CALL ME AS PROMISED AND EXPLAIN WHY I CANNOT DO THIS?By Ned Herron, April 28, 2017
